Shelves as Room Dividers
Shelves can be great room dividers. They can be found in versatile styles and as such can fit into different space. Some of them can open from both sides, giving you a chance to peek through the empty space. And the ones that are closed on the backside can provide more privacy. Also, besides the regular bookcases, there could be a wall with built-in wall niches that also serve as shelves and room divider.
