Tips for making flagstone pathways
- The first step is to install bender board edging and put down landscape fabric to prevent weeds. Make sure to secure the fabric edges under the bender board edging.
- Then pour 2-inch-thick layer of sand over the fabric, raking it smooth and moistening the sand with a spray from the hose.
- After that, pass over the moist sand several times with a drum roller.
- Add stepping stones, but make sure to lay them carefully so that each piece is level.
- And finally, fill the gaps between flagstones with sand, pebbles, gravel or mulch.
- Sweep the filler material off of stones with a broom and you are done.
